CHARTER SCHOOLS

Charter schools are designed to provide students and parents with educational choices beyond traditional public and private institutions. Arizona has hundreds of charter schools—more than many other states. Tucson has more than 75 operating charter schools, and that number continues to grow.

Since charter schools are not held to the same educational regulations as other public schools, be sure to do some homework before enrolling your child. Find out if the school's curriculum meets your child's needs, and talk to the parents of students who are enrolled.

For more information about charter schools in Arizona, phone 800-352-4558, or visit ade.state.az.us.
